The stretch is open for fishing.
Göta älv (Oscarsbron - Hängbron) is a unique and easily accessible fishing lake in a natural environment near central Trollhättan, near Strömslund and the power station. The stretch is about one kilometer long and here Göta river naturally forms a beautiful river with flowing water and with Åkerströms nature reserve downstream.
In the water there is also plenty of rainbow, pike, perch, gyze and various types of whitefish.
The stretch begins at the Oscars Bridge and goes down to the suspension bridge. The Oscar Bridge is one of Sweden's most visited viewing spots and is filled with tourists when the water is released in the otherwise dry fall fall during Fallen's days.
Salmon fishing is central, just over a kilometer from central Trollhättan, it is easily accessible by foot and by car. There is ample parking available adjacent to the river.
Fishing is conducted, especially salmon and trout, during the summer period (April 1 to October 14), and this year around 300 salmonids are taken. Salmon fishing on the new Atlantic salmon begins to take place around midsummer and the most common fishing methods are with spinning fly, spoon and mete with shrimp or herring.
In total, 2 salmon fish are taken per day and the minimum salmon size is 50 cm and trout 45 cm.
NOTE! Gosh 45 cm. The eel is protected throughout the area.
The fishermen Trollhättan - Vänersborg, shortens STV and has its headquarters in Trollhättan and Vänersborg municipalities. The association is affiliated with Sveriges Sportfiske- & Fiskevårdsförbund.
The association is responsible for monitoring and utilizing sport fishing and fishing interests within the municipalities of Trollhättan and Vänersborg with the surrounding area.
