NOTE! The Löftaån is guarded by a fisheries inspector (person with service badge) appointed by the County Administrative Board in Halland and members of the Löftaånsfiskevårdsförening. Fishing without a fishing license is illegal fishing and is prohibited according to the Swedish Fishing Act. Fisheries supervisor or member has the right to: - inspect fishing licences, gear, bags and catch - confiscate fishing gear and report to police authorities - in the event of a violation of the Fisheries Act, to promptly report the violation of the Fisheries Act to the police and/or prosecutor's office - reject the person from the place
Violation of § 34 of the Swedish Fisheries Act can result in fines or imprisonment of up to 12 months. The law applies to all persons regardless of citizenship.
