Unnen is a popular fishing lake for both locals and tourists. According to the survey, it was fished a total of 3400 days (average 3-5 hours) in 2009.
Unnen is a popular sport fishing lake. Much is due to the good chances of catching big pike and gossip. The picture shows a 11.35 kg pike from Unnen, which was taken by Ingemar Grimåsen in 1999. Today it is mainly the fish that attract fishermen to the lake. In the past, fishing for lake and perch was also very good in the lake and it was not uncommon for large specimens to be caught. There are data about caught pigs over 15 kg in Unnen and more than 10 kg are taken annually. Chances are to get the greatest pike of life in Unnen.
Unnen has a great development potential in fishing tourism as the lake is large and lies in a developable village. There is a varied fishing in Unnen for perch, pike, goose and carp fish. Tool fishing also occurs with bottom nets and nets.
It is of the utmost importance that investigations are conducted continuously in the future to evaluate how Unnens fish stocks develop. The extensive test fishery carried out in this project 2009 is a part of this work.
