The Ore River, downstream of the remains of the Stackmora dam and down to the railway bridge, it is not permitted to enter the right (seen in the direction of the water) shore (on land).

Fishing with scissors as well as all forms of hook fishing, i.e. all unattended hooked fish are prohibited within the fisheries management area, Fish for sale is prohibited (the exception to this is bait fish).

Net fishing in all watercourses is prohibited (also applies to seal areas)

Fishing in watercourses permitted except in case of cancellation at power plants and dams and the designated watercourses.

Ban on otter fishing in running water.

Grouper fishing ban between 1/4 - 31/5. Trout fishing in all waterways prohibited during the period 1/9 - 31/12.

As a private person, moving live fish between different waters is strictly prohibited by law.

Fishing ban Oreälven from 2021-01-01 from the Unnå bridge downstream to the power plant dam. From the power plant downstream of the Hansjö power plant and downstream of the Unnån power plant and downstream from the sluice gates at Bornbadet (Torrfåran) down to the Sandheds bridge. Exception for Boggviken fishing allowed from Sandhedsbron upstream the entire Boggviken.1/12-30/ 6.Kraftverket Skattungbyn upstream 300 m and downstream 300 m permanent fishing ban.Applies from 15/5-2022.The moved trial stretch in Unnån applies fishing ban 2024-20261231.The coordinates N6804068 (upstream coordinate) and N680027768 E471331 (downstream coordinate. Co-owners and local residents

Net fishing allowed in Orsasjön, Skattungsjön, Draggen, Ämåsjön and Vässinjärvi. Max 6 pcs. nets of standard length are allowed. For Owners and local residents, sardines, Russians and lake trout are permitted fishing gear, where the rules do not say otherwise. The equipment is limited to a maximum of 6. The fixed gear, including nets, must be clearly marked with approved flags or with clearly visible floats on which the name, address and telephone number must be clearly stated. Fishing with fixed gear from ice, with the exception of roach huts, not permitted within Orsa FVOF.

Angeldon

Permitted for all categories of fishermen. The quantity of fishing rods/ice fishing rods is limited to 12

Crayfish fishing

Separate crayfish fishing license is sold at ifiske.se

Allowed from the 2nd Friday in August to the 4th Sunday in September. minimum measurement from forehead tip to tail tip 10 cm Max. 6 cages per fishing license. The cages must be marked with name and telephone number.

Trolling

For the whole of Orsasjön and Siljan, the Siljansbygden fishing conservation association's trolling card, which can be purchased at ifiske.se, applies to the entire Skattungen, a separate trolling card that can be purchased at ifiske.se

Youth Under 18 years of age do not need a fishing license (but the regulations must of course be followed)

Clarification

Fishing with a baited hook includes all forms of bait such as bait fish, worm and maggot including modern "scent products". When fishing is only allowed with hand gear, use must be limited to a maximum of one gear per card and person. The exception is Orsasjön, where the 1993 Fishing Act's definition of hand gear applies to co-owners and local residents - "Hand gear means a rod, dart and similar movable gear that is equipped with a line and a maximum of ten hooks ."

Regard

When fishing with bait fish, where this is permitted, avoid using fish from other water systems to avoid the spread of undesirable species and diseases.

Respect the signage within the fisheries management area. Garbage and rubbish must be taken home after fishing.

Do not boil fish to be returned for too long to avoid lactic acid formation.

When fish that do not fit the size have been caught, do not take the fish out of the water, but carefully remove the fish in the water.

Allow the fish to get fresh water over the gills (hold it against the current or gently move it back and forth). The majority of the fishery management area's trout and grayling stocks are naturally reproducing, which is something we are proud of.

This also means that they are very valuable, but unfortunately many of the stocks are sensitive so do not overtax these - follow the issued regulations.

Avoid extensive worm fishing in smaller watercourses where this fishing is permitted. Brook trout are outlaws and may be caught in unlimited numbers. Perch- pike fishing is encouraged.

Return untagged (i.e. "wild") trout that is protected (trout with adipose fin is protected and released again. Tagged trout may be taken regardless of size. A maximum of one fin-clipped trout with a minimum size of 50 cm may be taken per day and fishing license. Trolling license also applies to Siljan ,Lake Orsasjön, the lake, down to Gråda.
