Varpan's fisheries management area includes all waters within the red marked area on the map. The red-marked watercourses within the area, i.e. Lill-Bjursen, Stor-Bjursen, Svarttjärnen, Rackeltjärnen, Sätterbotjärn, Stensjön, Karlsbotjärn, Skogsmyran, Kalven, Lilla Altjärnen, Igeltjärnen, Ubbergstjärnen, are NOT included in the fisheries management area.

Starter fishing package for young people between 6 and 12 years old in 2024

In order to promote interest in fishing among young people , Varpan's fvof, in collaboration with Jaktia, Falun , will distribute starter fishing packages to young people according to the regulations below.
Varpan's fvof distributes a maximum of 30 starter fishing packages, value SEK 1100, between April 13 and December 1, 2024.
Starter package includes a 6-foot reeling rod, reel, casting weight, fishing line* and line.
* Optional move to a maximum cost of SEK 70 is included, other parts cannot be replaced.
To pick up the starter pack, the guardian must go to Jaktia in Falun together with the young person.

• In order to receive a starter package, the youth's guardian must redeem or have previously redeemed a digital fishing rights certificate or annual fishing license in Varpan's fvof.
• Fishing rights certificates can only be redeemed by owners of fishing waters within Varpan's fvof area.
• Starter packages can be obtained by young people from the year they turn 6 until the year they turn 12.
• The starter pack can only be obtained once per youth.
• The starter pack can only be obtained once per family per year.
• The guardian must show valid identification and a digital annual card/fishing license for fishing within Varpan's fvof's waters.
• In order to receive a starter package, a form must be filled in and acknowledged at Jaktia.

Public fishing with a fishing license

Fishing licenses are purchased digitally via www.ifiske.se. Fishing license must be taken when fishing and presented on request.

Fishing license is personal. Children and young people fish for free until the calendar year they turn 16.

PRICE: Annual pass: 1 January - 31 December - SEK 350. Weekly pass SEK 150. Daily pass SEK 50.

Fishing licenses are valid in the entire fisheries management area with the exception of Djuptjärn, Rogsån and Stångtjärn.

The fishing license only applies to fishing with hand gear as follows: Max 2 rods per fishing license. When fishing with a mobile motorized boat, max 2 rods/card, but max 4 rods/boat.
Pikes over 90 centimeters must be immediately released back.
Max 15 anglers when ice fishing.
Bait only with dead bait from the same water area. A water area is delimited by migration barriers for the fish.

All catches should be reported via iFiske.
