The lake Värsjön has a unique biology and is therefore one of the County Administrative Board designated Nature Conservation Area. Fishing and the use of boats /floating devices and gear is therefore carefully regulated by law and according to the VFVO association's rules, in order to avoid contamination. A single drop of water from another lake can be enough to cause severe damage! 1. All fishing gear and other items used in other lakes and streams must be disinfected. See below.2. Use of own boats, canoes, kayaks, floats and other crafts is strictly forbidden. Boats can instead be hired by the association through iFiske.3. Prohibited to use or introduce bait, fish, crayfish or other aquatic animals and plants.4. The fishing license only applies to fishing with hand-held rods.Disinfection of fishing gear, at least one of the following methods shall be used:• Careful washing with clean alcohol (ethanol, t-red) .Sprayed or dipped for at least 10 minutes before use. Do not wash cclose to the lake or it's streams.• Drying in the sun for at least one day or long term storage (at least 1 month), ensure that the equipment is completely dry.The VFVO supervisors are appointed by the County Administrative Board to review fishing licenses and fishing gear and to ensure compliance with the provisions of the protection area.  Children/youngsters fish for free up to 12 years old. Anyone who violates the rules can be sentenced to financial penalties or imprisonment for a maximum of one year, and equipment may be confiscated.
