RULES FOR FISHING IN NISSAN'S FISHERIES AREA 2021
Fishing is allowed in Nissan from Oskarström (the regulation dam at Ry mill) to the outlet in the sea. Fishing may only be conducted within specified fishing pools and only by holders with a valid fishing license.
The fisheries conservation area is divided into pools, a total of nine, nos. 0-4 and 6-9. The pool boundaries are marked with signs. Permitted fishing methods within the zone are indicated with text on the sign. Fly fishing only (pools 3 and 8), fly / spin / angling (pools 0, 1, 2, 4, 6, 7, 9). The location of the pools is shown on the map.
Fishing may be conducted: On the east side (Frennarpssidan) downstream yellow marking about 150 meters below Slottsmöllan power station. On the west side downstream yellow marking opposite the above. Upstream throwing is prohibited.
Fly fishing may be conducted from a line about 10 meters upstream of the suspension cable also marked in red about 100 meters from the bridge. Note that throwing against the area formerly called the "pantry" is not allowed. The area is located downstream of the salmon ladder and the outlet from the power plant and ends at the yellow marking. See map.
A valid fishing license is required to fish in the area. Fishing license whose category or date has been changed or not filled in in any way is not valid. Fishing licenses must be worn fully visible on the arm and can always be presented together with identification at the request of the fishing supervisor.
Sales of annual cards are ongoing until 2021-06-30, thereafter only sales of other card types.

Children under the age of 12 in the company of a guardian may fish for free, if the guardian has a valid fishing license.
Group from school or leisure center in Halmstad municipality, has the right to fish on an adult card per 10 students. The same category of groups from other municipalities has the right to fish on an adult card per 5 students.
Fishing may be conducted between 1 March - 30 September between 05:00 and 22:00 in all pools. During the period 1 March - 31 August, fishing in pool 1 and pool 8 may be conducted between 5.00 and 24.00. During the period 1-14 October, fishing in pool 9 may be conducted between 7.00 and 19.00.
Fishing may be conducted with fly, spin and fishing rods. Only one rod per person. Fishing from a boat is not allowed. Snatch fishing is strictly prohibited under Swedish law. All incorrectly hooked fish must be re-released. Angling with a mask is forbidden March-April. Only single hook may be used during the period from 1 March to 30 April in pool 0 and 1. From 1 May, three hook may be used. To reduce the damage to fish to be re-released, it is recommended that only a barbed single hook is used.
Fishing licenses entitle to catch a maximum of 4 salmon and 4 trout per season. Re-release of large female salmon is recommended!
Caught and re-released fish must unconditionally be reported to Fiska.se. NOTE! Caught besa (hatched salmon) must unconditionally be released.
The following minimum dimensions apply, calculated from the tip of the snout to the outermost tip of the tail fin salmon: 45 cm trout: 45 cm. Fishing that does not meet the standard must unconditionally be re-released.
Caught fish must unconditionally be reported to www.ifiske.se.
The fisherman must follow the rules of the fisheries conservation area as well as additional instructions, which are provided by the fishing supervisor. Fishermen who break the rules or fail to follow the supervisor's instructions may be suspended and forced to return their fishing license without compensation.
Do not leave hooks, ropes or anything else that could harm birds and animals. Fish to be retained shall be killed immediately.
Changes or additions to the rules can be made without liability from the fisheries conservation area during the current season. It is posted on the Tourist Office and the website. As an angler, you are obliged to stay informed about and follow current fishing rules. Violation of rules can lead to revocation of fishing rights.
