There have been some news and new rules since last year.

We have appointed Tomasz Krysiak as fisheries inspector.

The new rules can be found on the next page. The reason for the fishing ban from May 1 to midsummer in the south-eastern area of Sottern is that we need to have a rejuvenation area in the lake.

RULES APPLICABLE TO FISHING IN THE SOUTHERN 2023

The fishing license for Sottern applies to fishing in the part of the lake belonging to Brevens Bruk AB. The approximate border consists of a line Kvarsätter-along the municipal border-Fjärdingshällen-Prästön-500 m east of Käfsterud (see map).

In case of violation of the rules below, a control fee will be charged by the fisheries inspector.

• The card is personal and must be carried when fishing and presented upon request during inspections.
• Only fishing with hand gear is permitted. No fishing nets may be used. In the summer, you may not have more than one hand tackle when fishing from a boat.
• For zander, the fish caught must be at least 45 cm and a maximum of 3 per day and boat, alternatively per card if fishing from the shore.
• For pike, the fish caught must be a minimum of 45 cm and a maximum of 90 cm and a maximum of 3 pikes/day and boat, alternatively per card if fishing from the shore.
• A special fishing license applies to trolling.
• When trolling, a maximum of 4 rods/card or a maximum of 6 rods/boat applies.
• When ice fishing, a maximum of 5 fishing gear per man applies and only with hand gear or so-called anglers.
• Local resident means those who live within Brevens Bruk AB's land holdings, including residents in Högsjö, Svennevad and Pålsboda.
• Family refers to those living in the same household.
• Hand gear fishing for young people up to 18 years of age is free of charge (presentation of ID document required).

Show consideration for nesting birds. Fish no closer than 200 m from nesting osprey and 300 m from nesting loons.

Fishing ban applies within the area marked on the map between May 1 and midsummer.
