RULES FOR FISHING LICENSE BUYERS

SVEG-HERRÖ FISHERIES CONSERVATION AREA

All fishing without a fishing license is prohibited - however, children and young people fish for free until they reach the age of 15. The fishing license is personal and may not be transferred.

You are obliged to obtain up-to-date information regarding regulations and fishing bans.

The fishing license entitles you to sport fishing with a hand tackle or a pull from a boat, exceptions apply to Svegssjön, Ljusnan downstream of Svegssjön and Vallsjön where multiple rods may be used when fishing from a boat. However, fly casting with a maximum of three flies is permitted. Fishing with nets, scissors, anglers, pole hooks, long lines, nets, marten, Russian and otter is prohibited, as is jerk fishing.

Exception : Permanent residents within the boundaries of the fisheries management area have the right to fish with nets or seines in Lake Svegsjön. All fishing license buyers also have the right to fish in Svegssjön, Ljusnan downstream of Svegssjön and Vallsjön, with anglers and pike scissors - but a total of no more than 10 anglers or pike scissors per person.

In planted ponds and lakes, the number of fish that may be caught of the species trout, char and rainbow trout is capped at 3 fish/day and card. For fishermen with an annual license, 3 fish/day applies, for additional fishing on the same day, a daily license must be purchased.

Vargknätttjärn, Hocksjön, Hundsjön, Skrattabbortjärn and Digertjärn count as planted ponds and lakes. Specific fishing license for Digertjärn will be abolished from 2023-01-01. Day passes will apply to all waters within the fisheries management area.

All planted waters except Ljusnan downstream of Svegsjön are closed to fishing from 1 October to 14 December.

The same waters are open for pimp fishing from ice from December 15 to May 31. Other sport fishing as above is permitted from June 1 to September 30. After the ice melts, fishing is therefore prohibited until June 1. With the exception of Svegsjön, Ljusnan downstream of Svegsjön and Vallsjön

The fisheries management area can decide on temporary fishing bans in certain waters. The fishing license sellers can inform you where fishing is prohibited at any time. Current information is also available on the association's website www.svegherrofvo.se

Fishing for trout between 1 September and 31 October, and fishing for grayling between 1 April and 15 May is prohibited in all flowing watercourses except Ljusnan downstream of Svegsjön, as well as in lakes and seals within a distance of 200 meters from inlets and outlets. Anyone who catches a trout or grayling in the prohibited area must immediately return the fish to the water. In the case of regulatory dams and specially arranged fishing paths, all fishing is prohibited 50 meters upstream and 50 meters downstream from the dam building or the fishing path.

It is prohibited to fish from a boat, floating ring or other floating craft in all ponds within the fisheries management area.

Fishing for crayfish or mussels is prohibited.

Minimum size: trout, char, grayling and rainbow 35 cm. Minimum size does not apply to brook fishing for trout and brook trout.

By agreement, the fishing license entitles you to fish in the entire Stråsjön, Abborrtjärn, Östingsjön, Mörttjärn, Granremssjön, Gröningen, Flärken and Svedbergstjärn. The card does not entitle you to fishing in Amsen, Kroktjärnsbäcken, Kroktjärn, Gryssjöån, Hälltjärn, Övre Gryssjön and Middle Gryssjön.

The fishing license entitles you to fish in Vemån only downstream of the highway bridge (National Highway 84).

Annual pass entitles you to net fishing in Öratjärn, Botvasselsjön, Långsjön -Bäckostjärn, Övre Skörmingsjön, Lower Skörmingsjön and the parts of Siksjön, Tyckeln and Tryggtyckeln that are part of the Sveg-Herrö fisheries management area.
