The short fishing area consists of the lower part of Kolbäcksån within Hallstahammar municipality, starting from Buren in the north, down to the outlet in lake Freden (Mälaren) in the south, see map. The stretch of Trångfors (the rapids section) up to and including Sörkvarnsforsen to the bridge is private fishing.

The purpose of Nedre Kolbäcksån's Fisheries Conservation Area's fishing rules is that fishing should be sustainable for future generations of anglers. By respecting our fishing rules, you as a fisherman contribute to keeping Kolbäcksån attractive.

Rules for Kolbäcksån:

You may only redeem one fishing license per person in Kolbäcksån, and only fish with one rod. In winter, a pimpel rod and a maximum of 6 anglers/pike rods for pike fishing may be used. Remember ice spikes/ice spikes and possibly lifeline. Please keep extra clothes in the car.

Children up to and including 12 years of age fish on the guardian's card, provided that they fish themselves, cast out and reel in themselves, any catch is counted on the guardian's card. Think about safety, use a life jacket, and parents, keep an eye on your children!
Young people over the age of 12 solve cards as usual.

Prohibition:

• Fishing is prohibited in Ladugårdssjön between April 1 and June 15 to protect the bird life.
• At Strömsholm Castle, fishing is prohibited all year round below the horse bridge, and down to the bend where the wall ends. See map!
• Lake Skantz is a club water, only members are allowed to fish there (see map)
• There is a fishing ban in all locks due to the security risk.
• See map for complete info on fishing prohibition areas.
• Aspen is protected between April 1 and May 31.
• The trout is protected between 15 September and 31 December.
• Malen is protected and completely preserved.
• The eel is protected. Fishing for eels may only be carried out three power plants upstream, i.e. above the power plant in Ålsätra.
• Fly fishing in the horse paddocks on the west side between the entrance of the canal to the horse bridge in Strömsholm is not permitted.
• Nets, nets, pike shears etc. are prohibited

Norse fishing: Permitted to use nets. Keep in mind that you need a fishing license when raking norse!

Mini / Maxi measurements:
For zander, 45-70 cm applies.
For trout, 40-60 cm applies.
Pike 40-75 cm.

In order for us to maintain a good stock of fish in our waters in the future, all walleyes over 70cm must be reintroduced.
You may take up two pikes per fisherman per day, and these pikes may be between 40 and 75 centimeters. Measuring device must be brought to be able to measure the fish!

The minimum size of trout is 40 cm and the maximum size is 60 cm. All trout under 40 cm and all trout over 60 cm must be released again.

Two trout per day may be kept between 40-60 cm. All other trout must be carefully reintroduced.
You may catch two precious fish per day.

Remember!

• All fish that do not measure up must be released back, handle the fish carefully and use nets
• If you clean the fish on site, do not throw the entrails into the water because it can easily spread various fish diseases
• Show consideration for land and lot owners
• Submit catch report
• Keep nature clean. Take your rubbish with you or put it in the bin

Nature reserve:

There are more reserves in Hallstahammar municipality that we should think about. The entire stretch from Freden to Mölntorp belongs to Natura 2000, Kolbäcksåsen between Kolbäck and Mölntorp is one on the west side.
In Hallstahammar there is the Sörkvarnsforsen nature reserve.

Restocking of noble fish:
If someone wants to return fish, these are NOT counted from the quota of 2 fish (rainbow, trout).

In case of violations:
Persons who do not comply with the above rules will be banned from further fishing in our fishing waters.
Control fees for violations of rules in Kolbäcksån and Kolbäcksgropen.
Fishing after the maximum number of fish caught - SEK 2000.
Fishing with too many rods - SEK 2,000.
Fishing from a non-permitted fishing spot - SEK 2,000 (All lock sections and the walkway south of Kolbäcksgropen).

These rules apply to everyone, if you see something that doesn't seem okay, please call/notify us at the club.

The purpose of lower Kolbäcksån's Fisheries Area fishing rules is that fishing will be sustainable for a long time to come. By respecting our fishing rules, you as fish help to keep Kolbäcksån attractive.

Kolbäcksån rules:

You can only buy ONE fishing license per person in Kolbäcksån, and only fish with ONE rod. In winter, you are allowed to use ONE rod and a maximum of 6 fixed reels with hooks for the pike can be used. Remember to have rescue equipment as well as rope. Have extra clothes in the car.

Children up to 12 years fish on parents cards, provided they fish themselves, throws out and weave themselves, any catch counting on the parent card. Think of the safety, wear life vests, and parents, keep an eye on your children!
Children above 12 years buy the normal fishing card.

Prohibition:

Fishing bans are in Ladugårdssjön between 1 April and 15 June in order to save bird life. There is a fishing ban in all locks due to the security risk.

Aspen is protected between April 1 to May 31.
The ring is protected between September 15th and December 31st.
The template is peaceful and completely protected.
The eel is protected. Fishing for eels may only be carried out three power plants upstream, ie. above the power plant in Ålsätra.

Furthermore, there are fishing bans from all bridges in the area and from Slottsholmen in Strömsholm with the beaches west and east thereof.
Fly fishing in the horde paddocks on the western side between the channel's inlet to the horse bridge in Strömsholm is not allowed.

Nets, fish traps, scissors etc. are prohibited

Smelt Fishing:
Allowed to use the landing net.

Mini / Maxi dimensions:
For Zander its 45-70 cm.
For trout 40-60 cm.
Pike 40-75 cm.
