1. Fishing times:
Fishing season: 1 April - 30 September
Fish species: Salmon, Trout, Pike and Perch. Eels may NOT be caught. The rise of the salmon can vary.

2. Fishing method:
Only fishing with spin, fly or angling is allowed.
Fishing may only be done with one rod at a time.
Fishing with shrimp or worms is allowed, but only with a single or double hook.
Jerk fishing is absolutely prohibited.
Mishooked fish, intentionally or unintentionally, must be immediately re-released.

3. Fishing area:

The fishing area stretches from Ullared to Nydala and is divided into 3 areas:

Nydala area: Only fly fishing is permitted downstream of Nydala mill. Spinning and angling are prohibited on this stretch.
All fishing methods are permitted upstream of Nydala mill. All fishing is prohibited on the pier after 1/8. See demarcation on map.

Area Kogstorp: Fishing is permitted between the power line 500 m upstream of the bridge in Kogstorp to 100 m north of the stone bridge at Boarp. Short fishing allowed only on the west side of the river. See demarcation on map.

Area Ullared: Fishing is permitted between the road bridge in Ullared (road 154) and up to where the forest begins south of Barkhult. See demarcation on map.

4. Capture and Reporting:
Catching migrating salmon (besa) is prohibited. Fishing license entitles you to catch a maximum of two salmon or trout per day. Caught fish may be kept.

During the period 1 April - 30 June, a maximum of 3 salmon are caught in total. When 3 salmon have been caught, fishing is suspended for the rest of the time up to and including 30 June (this applies in the entire Ätran water area including tributaries), no restrictions July, In August and September, all caught fish over 75 cm must be released again. We also recommend that smaller females be re-released during these two months and urge fishermen to be aware of high water temperatures (over 20 degrees), when you should consider completely refraining from fishing.". We recommend single hooks in August and September.

5. Minimum dimensions
The fish is measured from the tip of the nose to the tip of the tail fin.
Salmon 45 cm and trout 45 cm.
Fish that do not meet the standard must be immediately released back into the water.

6. General rules
The fisher must present his fishing license and otherwise follow the additional instructions provided by the supervisor. The fisher is obliged to get to know the fishing rules and carefully observe the regulations. Fishermen who violate applicable regulations and fishing rules or who behave in a disruptive manner to other fishermen are banned from further fishing in the waters of Högvadsån's Nedre fiskevårdsområde.
