• The crayfish plague is spreading in Sweden and threatening our crayfish populations. Crayfish plague is spread mainly via signal crayfish, plague-stricken crayfish or infected water. Remember to prevent the spread of crayfish plague, boats and gear must be disinfected if they are moved between different waters!

• For fishing right holders, there is also the opportunity to buy a fishing right certificate, on presentation of documents that show that you have a fishing right (ie, have a property with a tax return in one of the homes that has water in Älgsjön). Special rules apply to fishing rights certificates.

Boat, floating fabric and gear:
To prevent crayfish plague, use one of the following methods of disinfection:
• Drying to complete dryness, e.g.
- in a sauna at least 70 ° C for at least 5 hours (large objects) or at least 1 hour (small objects),
By prolonged sun-drying or air-drying.
• Washing or immersion in Tröd (3 parts alcohol: 1 part water). Fishing gear must be kept submerged for at least 20 minutes.
Freezing -10 ° C for at least 24 hours.
Boil under a lid for at least 5 minutes, the object must be completely immersed in the water.
