PROVISIONS FOR SOLLERÖ FVOF

Sollerö Fisheries Conservation Area comprises about 60 lakes and watercourses.
Categories of fishermen:

• Co-owners and persons registered in Sollerö parish (members).
• Others (general).

In general, only fishing with hand gear is allowed. For Siljan and Orsasjön there is a special fishing license, (Siljan card) for trawling, otters and trolling fishing. One and the same fishing license is valid for all fishing waters with the exception of the Put and Take lakes.

Pute and Take

• In Björnsjön, Umsisjön and Oxtjärn, a special fishing license applies, and a maximum of three fish per card, which are redeemed automatically at Ekorrån (Mångberg), Gesunda (driveway) or at Oxtjärn.
• Fishing in these lakes is allowed from the 1st Friday in June at 20:00 until the ice melt next year. In Oxtjärn, only fishing with a fly rod is allowed in summer.
• Only fishing with one rod / line per fisherman. For other regulations and times regarding these lakes, see appropriations at each lake, and card vending machine.

Rules

• When fishing with hand gear for members and the general public, only one rod / line per card may be used in all lakes and watercourses within the Sollerö Fisheries Conservation Area. NOTE! This also applies to Siljan.
• Fishing licenses must be carried when fishing and can be presented to fisheries inspectors. Family card is valid for spouse or cohabitant and children living at home. Children under the age of 15 are included free of charge on the cardholder's card. However, this does not apply to fishing in Umsisjön, Björnsjön, Oxtjärn and Rädsjön.

Minimum dimensions

• 30 cm on precious fish applies in all waters within Sollerö FVOF (not Siljan) with the exception of char in Rädsjön, where 25 cm applies. In Siljan, special rules apply. Precious fish in our waters = Trout, char, whitefish, grayling and rainbow trout.

Fishing ban

• Fishing ban applies in Mångån (the stretch below Mångånsdammen to Siljan). Also applies to the outlet in Siljan.
• Fishing ban all year round in Gåstjärn. The entire Gåstjärn with fishing cabin is rented out to companies and groups. For more info call 0250-22555, 22671 or see more info under the item Gåstjärn-Hyrfiske.
• All fishing is prohibited from 1 September until the end of the year in all running waters

Boat rules

• Fishing from a boat for the public is allowed in the following waters: Siljan, Säxen, Sävsjöarna, Vådsjön, Fjärdsjöarna and Mångsjön.
  (Multi-lake motorboat ban). In other waters, fishing from boats and floating is prohibited.
• Fishing from boats and rowing for members applies the same as for the general public with supplements for Sälsjöarna, Rädsjön, Långsjön, Grossjön and Grundmången (Motor may only be used when moving in these lakes, also applies to electric motors).

Net fishing

• Prohibition of net fishing for members applies in all waters on the mainland with the exception of Säxen, Vådsjön, Fjärdsjöarna and Sävsjöarna.
• The same regulations apply to otter fishing, longline, standing hook and angling as to net fishing.
• All fishing gear in all waters must be marked with name and address or telephone number.
• Marking must be carried out with approved flags or five-liter cans at both ends of the gear.

Fly fishing

• In Mångån (the Norra fjord section to Mångsjön) and Oxtjärn, only fly fishing is allowed.

Fish below the minimum size and other fish that are not to be kept are carefully released with a damp hand and re-released.

Every fisherman is obliged to find out the current rules for each water.

Be careful with fire in the woods and on the ground and fire only in designated places
