• Sport fishing (fishing with hand-held gear, hook and line) in Rickleån is permitted on payment of a fishing license.
• Sport fishing in Hemsjön is free, see rules below.
• Rickleån Sportfiske (fishing with hand-held gear, hook and line) in Rickleån is allowed on payment of a fishing license.
• For Rickleån, the fishing license is valid from Tvärån's mouth in Rickleån above Åselestupet to brom at Bruksforsen in Robertsfors.
• The rules in Rickleån are governed by the Swedish Fisheries Agency's regulations (FIFS 2004:36) on fishing in the Skagerrak, Kattegatt and the Baltic Sea". In addition, there are local supplements that are decided by the annual general meeting.

Fishing times*

• NOTE. Preliminary fishing times. An update of the fishing regulations is expected during the year. Fishing times and more can then be updated.
• Fishing season 1/5 through 30/11.
• The salmon stock is weak and under construction. Salmon are therefore protected throughout the year and may not be killed
• Before 22/5, trout are also not killed, this is to protect overwintered trout.
• Grayling may be fished from 1/6
• Game protection 15/9 to and including 31/10, fishing is closed completely
• Trout and grayling can be fished again from 1/11 to 30/11
• Hemsjön is open for fishing all year round.

Minimum dimensions and quotas*

• Trout 50 cm (max. 1 trout per day).
• Grayling 40 cm (max. 1 grayling per day).
• Pike window dimensions with min 40 cm and max 75 cm.
• Crab fishing prohibited.
• Fish caught during the conservation period, wrongly hooked fish or fish below the minimum size must be unconditionally returned. This also applies if the fish is considered damaged.

Other*

• Salmon may not be killed. All salmon caught here must be released unconditionally. This is to facilitate the re-establishment of salmon above the power plants.
• All fishing is prohibited 100 meters downstream and 100 meters upstream of the dam in Bruksforsen, Sågforsen and Fredriksfors.
• Fishing with a mask is prohibited in rapid sections.
• Only fly fishing is allowed in Isakfäbodaforsen and Tjärdalsforsen.
• Season tickets are valid from the date of purchase up to and including 31/12 of the same year.
• Hemsjön Fishing in Hemsjön is free all year round.
• Permitted gear is sport fishing gear (fishing with hand-held gear hook and line).
• Control fee On 1 April 2011, certain provisions in the Act (1981:533) on fisheries management areas were changed. The change means, among other things, that the fisheries management areas now have the opportunity to issue control fees themselves for people who fish in violation of the association's regulations. Rickleån's upper FvO decided at the annual general meeting on 29 March 2017 to adopt section 31 in its statutes regarding the Control fee. The meeting's decision regarding inspection fee for violation of FvO's regulations: In case of violation of locally decided rules, an inspection fee of SEK 2,000 shall be charged.
• Young people fish for free until their 18th birthday. Free youth card MUST be registered at ifiske.se

Recommendations

• Return overwintered trout and salmon. It is of little value on the dinner table and should instead be given the chance to play again.
• Return trout over 70 cm and preferably all females. The large females are very important for reproduction.
• Salmon and trout from the Gulf of Bothnia belong to the fish that you should not eat too often according to the Swedish Food Agency. Children, young people, women who want to have children in the future, as well as pregnant and lactating women are recommended not to eat fatty fish with high levels of dioxins and PCBs more often than a maximum of 2-3 times per year. Others can eat oily fish from the Gulf of Bothnia once a week.
