The association was formed in 1987, by the fishing rights holders in the lake to coordinate fishing and fisheries management.
When it was formed, it was also decided that the association should grant fishing rights to the public, which takes place through the sale of fishing licenses. In addition to this, the association works to maintain a good and original environment in Lake Furusjön and its shore zones.
