Gideälven (Mellan Björna KV till Gammelby KV)

Welcome to Gideälven's FVO – where exciting fishing meets magnificent Norrland nature. Here, a varied and natural fishing awaits for the river's original population of grayling and trout. The Gideälven's fishing conservation area extends from Björna power plant to Gammelby power plant and includes three fine rapids: Skallviksforsen 200 meters long, Hemlingsforsen 1,500 meters long and Långstrandsforsen 1,300 meters long The river has a good supply of grayling and trout. In the calmer sections between the rapids there are also excellent opportunities to fish for pike and perch. There are also chub, roach, bream and roach here – something that makes the area attractive for many types of sport fishing. At the bridge over Hemlingsforsen there is an easily accessible rest area with parking, a spacious double wind shelter and two barbecue areas. Firewood is available in the adjacent woodshed. There is also a footbridge over the river and space for caravan parking. Another wind shelter is located downstream of Långstrandsforsen. In Hemling, near the river, there is both a general store and a gas station with a kiosk – practical when you want to stock up on provisions or arrange the last things before a fishing trip.
