Bergvattensjön is beautifully situated in the middle of the Dorotea community, directly adjacent to European Route 45.
The lake has natural stocks of perch, pike and whitefish, but to spice up the fishing, the municipality releases rainbow trout, trout and char three to four times a year.
The service around the lake is good with windbreaks, barbecue areas and 12 piers.
When it comes to the fishing itself, summer is the time when most people go to the lake to fish. Perhaps the best fishing period falls a week before and a week after midsummer when the Rocken (lake sand dragonfly) hatches. The dragonfly hatches in large numbers and attracts the lake's noble fish to a real feast.
However, winter fishing should not be forgotten, especially in the later part of spring when the sun begins to warm and the fish activity increases.
Björnrycket, a popular ice-fish competition, is held on the lake every spring and winter around week 10.
