Herrestadssjön and Nästasjön, Värnamo Municipality are part of the Lagan water system, the Storån catchment area. Nästasjön is located 1 km north of Kärda and Herrestadsjön is 2 km west. Nästasjön has an area of 134 ha with a maximum depth of 11.6 m, an average depth of 4 m. Herrestadsjön has an area of 370 ha, and a maximum depth of 4 m.
The lakes are surrounded by open farmland, but there are also areas of coniferous forest.
Your own boat can be moored in Nästasjön at the Nästabadet swimming area. Boats can also be rented from the fisheries management area, SEK 100 per day. There is one boat in Nästasjön and one in Herrestadsjön.
During the 1990s, pike-perch was introduced into both Nästasjön and Herrestadsjön. Reproduction in Nästasjön has been very successful and the lake has a good pike-perch population. The lakes offer exciting casting rod fishing for pike, zander and perch.
