Alfta FVOF manages 104 lakes larger than 1 ha, 17 lakes between 100-1500 ha and a large number of flowing waters of varying size. The largest of these watercourses is Voxnan. Perhaps the most well-known, for fishermen, is probably the mythical "Svartån" - Flaxnan, which the fisherman and author Hans Lidman has written so captivatingly about in several of his books. The upper part of the river is now leased to Woxnadalens Flugfiske.
You can also hike in Lidman's footsteps at Rossån, which flows in the northernmost part of our area. In these seven-mile forests you can encounter bears or the controversial wolf. Other flowing waters that should be mentioned are Andån, Hässjaån, Anneforsån, Häsboån and Vinnfarsån which flows into Rossån and forms Långboån. These waters hold trout and grayling, but pike and perch are also found.
Among the lakes there are a number of put and take waters of different nature and some where support releases contribute to the original population of mainly trout and char. In some of the lakes there is a good chance of large pike and of course perch. Several waters also hold pikeperch, whitefish and roach.
