Åmänningens FVO

Lake Åmänningen is the largest lake in Västmanland after Lake Mälaren and Lake Hjälmaren. It is located in Fagersta municipality in Bergslagen with Engelsberg Mill, one of Sweden's World Heritage Sites, as its closest neighbor.

In the lake is the famous Oljeön with the world's only preserved oil refinery from the 19th century. The Åmänningen is 2260 hectares with about 30 islands.

The lake has plenty of pike, zander and perch and there are also salmon trout and roach.

The anglers, together with some landowners, have created a pike factory in a waterway connected to the river in 2025.
