26/2 -24 Unfortunately, we have not received the final answer that was promised. Therefore, the recommendation still applies NOT to eat fish from the lake.

24/4-23 Right now it is recommended NOT to eat the fish from the lake. An investigation is underway and we should receive a final answer at the beginning of October 2023.

Årrsjön is located south of Fröskog/Fengersfors, 2 miles SW of Åmål, and covers 550 ha with a maximum depth of 27 m. The lake is connected to Dalslands Canal via Strömmens and Snäckes locks in the southern part. Plantings have taken place of Gullspångslax and Västersilenöring. Restoration took place in 2015 by Verkån (removal of hiking obstacles). Otherwise good stocks of perch and pike. Possibility of launching at Fröskog's guest harbor at the northern end of the lake.
