The fishery conservation area of about 2300ha, between Untra power plant and Älvkarleby, is covered by the Dalälven's last large delta area before the river meets the sea. We offer the visitor both good fishing and nature experiences. The Båtfors nature reserve is partly affected by the fisheries conservation area.
The water is rich in pike, pikeperch and perch, but also contains many and many species of "white fish".
Work to enable sea-migrating fish to reach the Dalälven River is underway.
Good opportunities to launch your boat i.a. in Marma, Mehedeby and Lindbergsviken about 1km west of Älvkarleö.
Very varying depth conditions prevail. Everything from the old stretch of the river channel to large dammed reed areas.
