Fly fishing is usually best in early summer when the spring flood has subsided.

The Giertsbäcken fishery conservation area was established in 2014.
The association manages the fishing within the Giertsbäcken fishery conservation area.
The area consists of joint fisheries within the Bergnäs, Forsbacka, Hölidens and Klippen skifteslag within Sorsele municipality in Västerbotten County.
The purpose is to coordinate fishing operations and fisheries management, to promote the common interests of fishing right holders, taking into account the regulations that apply to fishing, and to allow fishing to the public.
