Along the Juktån the nature is magnificent, with rapids, falls and magnificent rock formations. The fishery conservation area includes 15 lakes and approx. 50 ponds.
The flowing water is found in Gunnarbäcken, approx. 10 km, true Juktån and Lickotgren with a stream length of approx. 33 km alternating with rapids and rapids.
The lakes contain abundant stocks of perch, pike, whitefish, roach, roach and roach. Several lakes contain large trout and some waters regularly stock char. In Skirtträsket there are older stocks of large trout and char.
Every year, juvenile, 2-summer, and ready-to-catch trout are planted in the Långsele and Bredsele rapids.
The fishing premiere in those waters takes place on Midsummer Eve.
Rest areas in the form of fireplaces, shelters and cabins are located along Juktån and at certain lakes and ponds. The cabins are open except for nos. 4, 7 and 17, which can be rented (see special sections here on the website). Leave rest areas, shelters and cabins in the condition you would like to find them.
A special fishing license is required for Lill-Gubbträsket. The water has good stocks of trout, char and grayling. Two boats are available for rent. In Lill-Gubbträsket and Storträsket, your own boats or other floating equipment, including float rings, are not allowed. More information under special sections here on the website.
Stortjärn and Stentjärn have good stocks of char. Stentjärn also has some trout. Storträsket also has some trout and char, but mainly perch. Orrträsket is known for its good stocks of perch. Fish over a kilo are not uncommon, but as always, big fish can be capricious.
Prohibited areas are marked on the map in red.
More information about additional restrictions and rules as well as the sale of fishing licenses can be found under the heading Fishing here on the website.
Boating is prohibited in some waters, see more under the heading Fishing here on the website.
Welcome to Gunnarbäcken Juktåns lower FVO.
Fisheries Conservation Area Association formed in 1989.
Gunnarbäcken Juktåns Nedre FVO system drains the southeastern part of Blaikfjället and the forest area between the Umeälven and Juktån rivers. Fishing has been important for the survival of the population since ancient times. As early as the early 18th century, settlers from Tegsnäset and Granö traveled to these waterways and engaged in intensive fishing.
