Hjortens FVOF

Hjortesjön is located just outside Virserum towards Stenberga, in Hultsfred and Vetlanda municipality. Hjortesjön is also referred to in everyday speech as Lake Hjorten.

Hjortesjön is a humous and oligotrophic lake with varying bottom topography. Deep holes down to just under 19 m deep are replaced by islands and shallow sections. The lake's shores consist mainly of rock and block bottoms.

The vegetation is sparse with small sparse stands of reeds, water lilies and reeds in sheltered bays. The lake is mainly surrounded by coniferous forest, with elements of deciduous forest, arable and pasture land.

Boat ramp is available in Mörtefors, see map. It is possible to park by the boat ramp, remember to show consideration for accommodation and not too close.
