In our area, opportunities are offered for a varied fishing for a variety of species in both lake and river with easily flowing water. Common fish catches are pike and perch, but also pikeperch in summer. For those interested in angling, there are several good calm waters where catching larger bream and tench is possible.
We are proud to have aspen in our waters - enhanced protection applies to these, which means careful handling and re-release requirements all year round.

Kolbäcksån with Strömsholm's canal is a sight where it is possible to see how a lock is made up close at the double lock in the middle of Surahammar.

If you are lucky and are extra vigilant, you can see the resident but shy beavers in the river stretch between Magsjön and the Baltic Sea . There are at least three different beaver huts.

Free fishing for children and adolescents up to the age of 14.
Children / Youth must be able to fish on their own (Throw / crank / fish themselves)
Children / young people who can carry a rod themselves (throw in / crank themselves) fish for free until 1 Jan in the year they turn 15 - does not apply to trolling / angling-ice-fishing / bait - this requires their own fishing license.
