The lakes are characteristic forest lakes in the Småland highlands where only a small part of Möckeln borders agricultural land. Otherwise it is pure forest landscape with sparse buildings and a feeling of untouched forest nature. Main fish species are: Pike, Perch. In addition there is Bream, Tench and Roach. Trout has been introduced annually into the lake system for the last 20 years.

Möckeln-Lången-Lillasjön-Skärsjöns FVOF
Sjöarna inom fiskevårdsområdet ligger en knapp mil sydost om Lenhovda och utgör den sydvästra delen av Alsteråns uppringingområde. Föreningen bildades år 1994 och utgör en sammanslutning av samtliga ägare av fiske i sjöarna inom byarna Östraby, Renshult, Merhult, Johanstorp, Möcklehult och Vägershult. För Lillasjön fanns en fiskevårdsförening sedan 1932 och den upphörde i samband med bildandet av en förening för alla fyra sjöarna. Sjöarna har sedan 1980 ingått i Alsteråns kalkningsprojekt vilket inneburet att kalkning har genomförts med regelbundna intervaller.
