Bureälven has its source flows in the areas south of Bastuträsk and its outlet in Bureå about 20 km south of Skellefteå. Bureälven's lower fishing area begins in Tjärn upstream of Mjödvatten. On its way through the fishing area, Bureälven flows through the lakes Mjövattsträsket , Hjoggböleträsket , Falmarksträsket , Bodaträsket , Bursjön and through the Bureå community on the coast.
In our waters there is one of the few stocks of gös in Norrland. In the lakes there are also plenty of pike, perch, braxen and lake. The streams of the river offer great opportunities to fish sea trout, trout and harry especially during spring and autumn. In the river system there is river crayfish. Note that crab fishing is NOT included in the fishing license for the fish care area, but is handled by the respective village team, which sells their fishing license. Crab fishing is conducted for 1-2 days a year. Crayfishpest is a major threat to Norway's flood crayfish, it can easily spread if the fishfish is not handled carefully ( www.krafta.nu ).
Within the Fisheries Association we are actively working to create strong and self-producing strains, as a part of this work, we have made victories of harrie, trout and salmon over the years.
