Boksjön FVO is located east of Tärnaby and north of the Ryfjällsmassivet, here the Boksjödalen valley spreads out and there you will find our FVO. Here you can catch the big trout and char with Ryfjället in sight.
The area includes most of Övre Boksjön, Boksjö Bleriken, the southern part of Nedre Boksjön, Fetträsket, Sågtjärn and the eastern part of Kråkbergsbleriken. Övre and Nedre Boksjön, also called Kirjesjaure, are the headwaters of the Kirjesån River, which flows through Kirjesålandet, eventually joining the Umeälven River in Slussfors. There are two large lakes, a few smaller ponds and streams in the area.
The trout have become more numerous and larger thanks to fishery conservation measures. The area offers opportunities for spin and fly fishing.
Summer fishing
Sågtjärn is a popular trout lake and is reached via the hiking trail towards Överstjuktan. The Gemsbäcken outlet in Övre Boksjön and Boksjöblerikan are other summer tips. However, the larger lakes are usually difficult to fish without a boat.
Winter fishing
Fishing waters in the area are most easily reached by snowmobile, which is not least true of Fetträsket, a pure char water. Boksjöbleriken, the eastern part of Kråkbergsbleriken, Övre Boksjön and the entire southern part of Nedre Boksjön are also winter waters.
The following waters are available within the fishery conservation area:
Upper Boksjön, Boksjö Bleriken, the southern part of Lower Boksjön (Kirjesjaure), Fetträsket, Blindtjärn, Sågtjärn, the eastern part of Kråkbergsbleriken.
Boksjö FVOF was formed in 1991, the members consist of fishermen's owners in Boksjö Byalag, as well as Station, a single property located on the lower Boksjön.
The association has its headquarters in Boksjön, and our main goal is to improve and monitor the fish's natural environment and conditions with care, in order to obtain a high quality fishing population in the long term.
