Åmots FVOF offers free fishing for children and young people. Please read and follow the general fishing rules that apply for the area. Rules specifically for children and adolescents:
  • Free fishing for children and young people up to the age of 14 years.
  • Valid only in certain waters or in certain places, see fishing rules / comment
  • Can fish on someone else's fishing permit (but the person does not need to be present)

About the water

Description

Åmot is located about 20 km west of Ockelbo in the scenic western Gästrikland. There are also other things to do besides fishing. An excellent tourist destination for the whole family.

At Ljustjärn there is a cottage that can be rented for 500 SEK/night or 1000 SEK/week. (For booking, see Contacts.) 

The journey time from Stockholm by car is about 2.5 hours. You take the E4 north, turn off towards Ockelbo at Hagsta. From there it is 40 km to Åmot.

Föreningen ansvarar för ett hundratal sjöar och tjärnar. Föreningen ligger långt framme ifråga om att anpassa sina vatten för funktionsnedsatta. Fiskevård är något som föreningen ständigt arbetar med och man har bl a. gjort restaureringar i Bresiljeån och Kölsjöån för ett hållbart fiske för framtiden.
