The fishing area around Ejheden has historically belonged to Korsnäs. When Ore FVOF was formed, Ejheden was exempted as a recreation area for Korsnäs staff.
In 2001, Korsnäs sold its forest holdings to Sveaskog, and Sveaskog thus became the sole landowner in the forests around Ejheden.
The fishing has been mentioned in the media since the beginning of the 20th century when tourists came to Ejheden to fish. Perch fishing has been Ejheden's great hallmark.
