Halen is Blekinge's largest lake, with large parts of the lake included in the Halen Nature Reserve. On the eastern shore of the lake there is a large recreational area with camping, restaurant, kiosk, boat and canoe rental. The fishing opportunities are great as Halen is part of a large lake system. The lake is home to, among other things, bream, pike and perch.
There are nautical charts available at the municipality's service center, these are free of charge. The nautical chart is very helpful, in addition to navigation, also when fishing. It contains, among other things, ground markings and detailed depth curves.
