Salmon fishing is now banned in the Klarälven. All salmon caught must be immediately released regardless of the condition of the fish.
The fishing waters include the part of the Klarälven that lies within the Sysslebäck fishing management area.
The stretch is about 25km long and runs from the Kärrback-strandsbron in the north to the Ransby-bron in the south. The stream stretch down to Vingängsjön has only a few seals, which gives it a rocky bottom. The rest of the river section has a sandy bottom. At Brattmon, the river is strongly rapid for about 2 km. Here the bottom is coarsely rocky, but otherwise there are about fist-sized stones. The river width varies with an average width of 80-100 meters.
In the stream areas, the fish stocks consist of grayling and trout and occasional salmon, in Vingängsjön pike, perch and roach. There are also some whitefish in the river. The Klarälven River, and not least the Sysslebäckspartiet, are among the very best grayling waters in central Sweden.
