The fisheries management area includes Lake Tiken with an area of 630 ha and the Bräkneån from the Tiken outlet to the Blekinge border, a stretch of about 5 km. The lake has an average depth of 4 m with a maximum depth of 12 m. The Bräkneån stretches through a very hilly wilderness area with varying stretches of flowing water and calm ponds.
Fishing and fish species
The Tiken has a very good supply of pike. Otherwise, the fish stock consists of pike and perch as well as whitefish such as roach, bream and roach.
There is a stationary trout stock in the Bräkneån, especially in the flowing parts, where you can fish with a fly and light spinning rod with advantage. In the ponds there are pike, perch and whitefish. In the flowing parts it is prohibited to fish with live bait such as worms and maggots.
