Fishing on all stretches within Umeälven's Forsfishing area such as "Torrfåran" and the special stretches Öringskanalen and Baggböleören are now closed for the season.
The special sections Öringskanalen and Baggböleören are planned to be opened in the second half of April 2024. This depends on when the river becomes ice-free and it is deemed safe to fish. Keep an eye on this page and we will publish when it becomes possible to buy fishing licenses again.
The "dry stretch" i.ethe stretch between Sörforsbron upstream boundary and the power line above Baggböleforsen as downstream boundary, is planned to open again on May 20, 2024 .

Umeälvens Forsfiskeområde offers free fishing for young anglers. Please read and following the general fishing rules that apply for the area. Rules specifically for children and adolescents: Free fishing for children and adolescents up to the age of 12. Only in company with a keeper / adult / person who holds a valid fishing license (on his quota) Children up to 12 years of age fish for free in the company of a guardian who must hold a valid fishing license.
