Unnen is a popular fishing lake for both locals and tourists. According to the survey, a total of 3400 days of fishing were done in Unnen (an average of 3-5 hours) in 2009. Unnen is a popular sport fishing lake. Much of this is due to the good chances of catching large pike and zander. The picture shows a pike weighing 11.35 kg from Unnen that was caught by Ingemar Grimåsen in 1999. Today, it is mainly zander that attracts fishermen to the lake. In the past, fishing for roach and perch was also very good in the lake and it was not uncommon for large specimens to be caught. There are reports of pike over 15 kg being caught in Unnen and several over 10 kg are caught annually. There is a good chance of catching the largest pike of your life in Unnen.
Unnen has great development potential in fishing tourism as the lake is large and is located in a developable area. There is a variety of fishing in Unnen for perch, pike, zander and carp. There is also gear fishing with bottom nets and nets.
It is of great importance that surveys are carried out continuously in the future to evaluate how Unnen's fish stocks are developing. The extensive test fishing carried out within this project in 2009 is part of this work.
