Welcome to Rödsvattnets fvo. The lake contains: Perch, Pike, Zander (planted), Roach, Tench (and Eel). Fishing for eel is not permitted because eel is protected. All proceeds from fishing license sales go to purchasing and planting solitary pike. This is done every 3-4 years and has been going on for 20 years.
There are therefore pike in different size classes The lake is known for its large pike and every year pike over 10 kg are caught. Large tench are found in the vegetation-rich areas.
The lake has a pH value of around 6.5 and is a municipal water source for Orust municipality. Water quality is monitored regularly by the municipality. Beavers have been in the lake since the 1990s and they are active late evenings and nights.
