NB do not confuse this area with Lake Käringasjön in Vaggeryd! The fishing license is only valid in Vrigstad and only in Lake Käringasjön - not in other lakes. In addition: Fishing license purchases require the buyer's attention in good time for possible sales stops due to the club's activities around the lake. So, check that card sales are open well in advance before you plan to fish!
"Our club lake" Lake Käringasjön is a former rotenone-treated lake that now also, in addition to the regularly exposed trout relatives, Heligeå trout and rainbow trout, contains perch. The largest registered is now close to 1.7kg and has been followed to date by more around the same weight.
The area around the lake is characterized by the exciting rock formations at the southern end, which after the ice age still attract some climbers who like a moderate challenge. At the southern tip there is a larger windbreak and a cement-ringed barbecue area with a movable and height-adjustable grill installation. The footpath around the lake usually does not require boots, except when it rains, when these shoes are most suitable. Waders are not needed as the lake bottom is not at all suitable for wading or otherwise moving around. To get out over the water, there are jetties that you step on at your own risk.
The northern end of the lake has a very small windbreak, only for a couple of people. There is also a cement-ringed barbecue area with a corresponding grill grate as at the southern end. Note that it is everyone's responsibility to take into account any local fire bans. Barbecue bans may also occur. Unfortunately, we cannot yet agree with firewood.
The lake is surrounded by forest and the western side has a clear cliff opposite a protruding pine forest shore opposite on the eastern side.
The lake is just the right size to be able to go around it a few times without too much effort while fishing.
Please note that littering is not allowed. There are two garbage cans at the lake, one at each end of the lake, south and north. There is also a shelter and about 10 piers around the lake, two of which are floating.
