The Big Windmill

Skansnäs FVO includes part of Storvindeln, which is known for its large trout.
In addition to trout, there are whitefish, perch, pike and, to a lesser extent, grayling.

Lower Låkta Swamp
A nutrient-rich lake that contains stocks of grayling, perch and to some extent pike. The stream offers great opportunities for fly or spin fishing for large grayling.
The Låktabäcken stream (from Nedre Låktaträsket and downstream) and Nedre Låktaträsket are leased and are part of Skansnäs FVO.

Holmträsket
Natural stock of trout and perch. Large lake with islets, narrow straits and deep coves. A nice lake to explore from land or by boat. Skansäs FVO recently invested in a new boat that is located in Holmträsket and can be rented for 200 SEK/day. Perfect for exploring all the bays and depths of the lake.

Mountain pond
Natural population of trout that are sea-spawning with good reproductive capacity and rapid growth in the first years. It is a unique lake with clear water and a trout species that is only found in two places in Sweden. The lake's location and clear water alone are worth a visit. Most of the lake is included and leased by Skansnäs FVO.

Långtjärn, Grubbtjärn and Hästtjärn
Perfect lakes for ice fishing where char dominates.

Perch iron
A slightly larger pond where there is a good population of perch and char.

Currently, Skansäs FVO only owns one boat, which is available for rent in Holmträsket for 200 SEK/day. It may also be possible to rent privately owned boats at other lakes. If interested, contact the board or landowner.

Free fishing for children and adolescents up to the age of 15.

Skansnäs fvo

Skansnäs is located 42 kilometers from Sorsele, on the southern side of the Vindelälven River.
The village is beautifully situated on a promontory where the Vindelälven River is at its widest (3.5 km), in Storvindeln.
The association was formed in 1983 with the aim of introducing a net ban in all nearby fishing waters and investing in sport fishing.
The area borders the Vindelfjällen nature reserve with primeval forests near the mountains.
The area can be compared to a small Alaska and this hilly, rocky landscape offers rich flora and fauna.
Fisheries conservation work is focused on increasing natural stocks of game fish.
The current net ban in all lakes is a prerequisite for successful results. All waters in the area are open for fishing with rods from land and boat. Over the years, the association has built windbreaks at most lakes so that you have a place to pause fishing and relax for a while.
Today there are wind shelters at Långtjärn, Nedre Låktaträsket, Bergtjärn and a firehouse at Holmträsket.
A windbreak will also be placed at Grubbtjärn.
