Spånen

Lake Spånen is located in beautiful mixed forest areas just outside Alvesta next to highway 25.

The lake is relatively shallow and has plenty of larger boulders. The lake has very clear water with a pH of 7.0. The lake's area is 265 ha and has an average depth of 3 m. The lake is a spring lake and has no inflow. The lake's only drainage is via Lillå canal to Helige å and further to the main drainage area Mörrumsån. There is a rich birdlife in the lake.

Spånens FVOF

The FVOF of the shavings is mainly operated as an association of interest to monitor the lake biologically.

The association is tasked with providing good fishing care to the fishermen and the lake's recreational fishermen. The association is working to improve service and accessibility. Spånens FVO was formed in 1962 and was converted in 1988 to Spånens FVOF.
