Fishing and fish species

The lake has a rich fish fauna with the following fish species: whitefish, roach, pike, tench, roach, rudd, bream, roach, perch, pikeperch, snorkle, lake trout, as well as trout and brook trout in the Stensjöån tributary. There are also signal crayfish in the lake.

Fishing license

Currently, fishing in the lake is reserved for property owners/fishing right holders. Residents on Tovrida Cape lease fishing rights from the landowners in Tovrida and residents in Öggestorp lease fishing rights from the Church of Sweden in Öggestorp. No fishing licenses are sold.

Individual landowners can rent out their fishing rights, who are then responsible for providing information about the limits that apply to the fishing rights.

Fishing rules

Currently, fishing in the lake is reserved for property owners/fishing right holders within their respective areas.

The fishing on the Tovrida side of the lake is leased to the property owners at Tovrida Uddes Stugsamfällighet who are allowed to fish during the period May 15th to October 15th, with the exception of the crayfish fishing month of August. Only rod fishing is permitted, no fixed gear.

The crayfish fishing season is determined annually by the fishing area association at the fishing meeting in April. Each landowner/fishing right holder may only fish for crayfish within their own waters. Pike over 55 cm caught within Stensjöns FVOF must be released to promote the stock.

Boats and boat rentals

In Huskvarnaån from Stensjön to Carlforsdammen, and from Stensjön to Rambron, the speed limit is 5 knots. In Stensjön, the speed is not limited, but consideration must always be given to housing and wildlife.

There is a boat ramp for launching your own boat at Tovrida Udde.
