Big Wool is a deep, about 7 km2 clear water lake located a few km SE of Hagfors.
The lake is the source of drinking water for Hagfors and Munkfors.
Here are natural strains of trout, char, pike and perch. There are also whitefish, whitefish, burbot and eel, and implanted Gullspång trout (fin-clipped).
A simple place for båtisättning are at the lake's outlet in Hagälven (wool dam). It is not suitable for big rigs. A shelter with barbecue are at the beach on Långnäs- Udden's west side. A 300 m long path leads to the windbreak from the road that runs north of the lake.
Large wool Fish Conservation Area Association manages fishing in the lake Stora wool. The association's aim is among others to coordinate fisheries, fisheries management and leasing of fishing to the public, and to promote its members' common interests.
The association is a member of the Swedish fishing waters Federation.
