Svansjöarnas FVO, located in scenic southwest Värmland, comprises the lakes Ämmeskogsjön , Västersvan, Mellansvan, Östersvan, Eldan and Lången . The lake system is part of the Lillälvens water system , a water system that begins in the Glaskogen nature reserve and cycles through the lakes in our fishing area to finally end up in the Byel River .
The lakes have plenty of fish, especially the Baltic Sea, where you can find almost all varieties of whitefish (roach, lion, aspen, birch, etc.) and furthermore the pike is many, big and cherish! Even in the other lakes there are big pike. The record, as we know, is a 16kg pike taken in Mellansvan. Even the perch can become big, the largest we know weighed just over 3kg.
The Swan Lakes FVO was founded in 1991 following the initiative of a number of fishing rights owners who considered that fishing within Svanskog and Långserud's parishes needed help to develop and improve.
The fishery conservation area has about 400 members.
