The water levels of Lovsjön have been regulated in a water decree since 1924, which was clarified by the County Administrative Board in 2006 regarding the scope of the regulation.
Both Lovsjön and Västersjön have relatively clear water and good availability of pike and perch as well as other freshwater fish. The lakes are largely surrounded by woodlands and recreational and permanent housing.
