The fishing area extends from the village of Vemhån in the south to Henvålen in the north, with the Jämtland border in the east to the river Ljusnan in the west. Vemhån, Björnrike, Vemdalen and Vemdalsskalet are tourist-intensive towns with good general services for tourism.
- The fishing area offers varied and well-managed fishing in both mountain and forest landscapes, lakes as well as ponds and fine streams. The area is well signposted where roads and paths can be found to most waters. The area is also well supplied with windbreaks/firepits at most fishing waters.
- Veman, which has given its name to the valley, is a unique unregulated watercourse that is the artery of the valley and is easily accessible from the road for long distances. There are many streams that supply Veman with fresh water from the heights on both sides and where grayling and trout have their spawning grounds. Veman offers excellent stream fishing for grayling and trout. Knåpen and Borrströmmen are perhaps the most famous stretches, as is Sälströmmen where catch and release applies.
Put and take: We also recommend eight ponds with stocked game fish; Storvåndtjärn, Bergtjärn, Rundstenstjärn, Hanakamtjärn, Järpbäcksdammen, Varggranstjärn, Oxsjön and Styggtjärn.
- At our put & take waters you can buy digital fishing licenses with your mobile phone. Read the information signs at each fishing water.
