Meåforsen's fishing area covers a 25 km long stretch of the Fax River with mostly flowing water. Meåforsen is located upstream of the village of Ärtrik on road 331. The fishing area offers fishing in Fax River's last natural rapids and has one of Sweden's best grayling fishing!
There are two overnight cabins next to the river - "Harren" and "Öringen" which can be used free of charge. Both cabins are equipped with four beds, a wood stove and a dry toilet. In Långsele there is a camping ground, a grocery store and a petrol station. In Edsele there is a petrol station and a grocery store that also has fishing equipment. In Ramsele there is camping and cabin rental, a grocery store, a petrol station and sales of fishing equipment.
In the village of Ärtrik there is a pond with planted fish where fishing is offered at specific times and with a special fishing license.
