In the northern parts of the fishery management area, fishing is almost like in Norrland, with trout and grayling, which are also almost entirely natural stocks. Further south in the area, fish fauna such as bream and tench occur.
In the lakes Orsasjön and Skattungen, which are very species-rich, both sablefish and pike perch occur in large quantities. These provide food for species such as pike, trout and perch. The area also has valuable stocks of migratory trout, which thrive in Orsasjön and Skattungen.
Do you want to fish for free?
In Lillån in central Orsa, you can do just that. This water is excellent for learning to fish and is ideal for children and young people, but everyone is of course welcome. There are two longitudinal piers here that are adapted for the disabled.
Put and Take We have 5 different Put and Take waters with Trout, Char, (rainbow). All of these are located in incredibly beautiful places, some more accessible than others, all within 40 minutes of Orsa. More information about these waters can be found under rules and fishing licenses.
TIP! Complete the fishing license payment before you go out into the forest if you have the opportunity because coverage can be poor in some areas.
