Säters fvof offers several exciting fishing and nature experiences within walking and cycling distance of the town centre and Säters Camping. Sea fishing dominates, but fishing in waterways, with the Ljusterån and a stretch of the Dalälven being the most valuable, are excursion sites that in addition to fishing offer fine nature experiences. In these waters, trout (Ljusterån and Dalälven), grayling and rainbow trout can surprise (Dalälven). In our fish lakes in Nisshyttan, rainbow trout are regularly stocked and, depending on availability, trout (a special fishing license is required). In Lake Ljustern, trout are also stocked, but unlike the fish lakes in Nisshyttan, fishing is permitted with a regular sport fishing license.
Now it is far from only the red-spotted fish that attract interest. Yellow-spotted pike as well as its striped perch cousins are also popular species. Not to mention the eel, whose late summer fishing has become a recurring attraction (our waters are not subject to an eel fishing ban, but we recommend that caught eel be released).
