Tjärnesjön is one of Halland's largest lakes located entirely within the county's borders. There are plenty of perch, roach and pike in the lake, but also bream, whitefish and vendace. The lake is surrounded largely by forest, and only a few areas of buildings near the beach. It has a very varied depths and several islands.
Around the lake there is a rich bird life including black-throated diver and osprey nesting.
Fishery Conservation Association rents out boats in the lake, see more info on tjarnesjon.se.
There are several rental cottages around the lake.
