Valsjön, Rengen, Hotagen med flera vatten

Fishing for the large trout in Valsjön and Hotagen gives a feeling of big game hunting. Weights of up to ten kilos are common. Drag fishing and longline fishing are recommended. There are around 60 mountain lakes, forest lakes and flowing waters in the area. Here you can find, among other things, the nationally renowned Toskströmmen with a unique trout population, but also large grayling. In Valsjön, below the impressive Rengsfallet or at the outlet of Gunnarvattsån, the large trout can be waiting! Winter fishermen reach waters rich in char, such as Rengen and Butjärn, via snowmobile trails from the village. Several waters are close to the road, such as Lill-Brinnsjön, but the Hotagsfjällen mountains also offer roadless and game-rich longline fishing trips, in the middle of the Swedish and Norwegian mountain villages.
